As I grow older and colder,

With every passing year

The past lays on my shoulder

And the future becomes clear

Life was tough and hard-won

Had to face an ocean of pain

Got to hold on and move on

When no support or help came

Hold on, hold on

Autumn arrived slowly and gently

Sunshine ripened my mind and soul

Maybe I knew my fate exactly

And I'm so close to my goal

The time is now, to let it all go

All the pain, shame and guilt

Which I carry for years, oh no

But this was the life I've built

Let it go, let it go
